Strengthening Immigrant Talent Integration in Southwestern Ontario

March 22, 2018

Immploy research findings now available.

The Strengthening Immigrant Talent Integration for Regional Workforce Innovation research project was made possible through a partnership grant from the Ontario Centre for Workforce Innovation through funding support from the Ontario Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development.

To improve its understanding of the populations of immigrants flowing into, or out of, the London region, Immploy obtained a partnership grant from the Ontario Centre for Workforce Innovation to better understand if immigrants are working in their intended occupations in London region, in what industries and occupations immigrant talent attraction and retention strategies have been most effective, and what industries and occupations continue to experience skill gaps.   In answering these research questions, Immploy and its stakeholders seek to refine talent attraction strategies and better identify regionally based skill gaps with the goal of improving commensurate employment outcomes for immigrant job seekers, addressing hiring challenges for regional employers and ultimately strengthening the economic prosperity of London Region and economies across Southwestern Ontario.
